Yesterday, June 17, a cumulonimbus cloud with an anvil (Cumulonimbus incus), which looked like a “mushroom,” was recorded in the sky above the regional center of Zaporozhye region.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the Zaporozhye Regional Center for Hydrometeorology.
A cloud takes such a bizarre shape when, in its development, it meets at altitude a layer of warmer air (inversion). The vertical development of the cloud stops, and its top spreads out under this layer in the form of an anvil, the report says.
It is noted that these clouds are the cause of meteorological phenomena such as thunderstorms, hail, and squalls in the summer.
Let us remind you that in the summer of 2021 an unusual cloud in the shape of a nuclear mushroom was noticed in Kyiv.
