Two of his deputies were also fired. The state agency was temporarily headed by Roman Komendant, the government press service reported.
Nayyem wrote his resignation letter on June 10, the day after the scandal of being denied access to the renewal conference in Berlin.
He explained this by saying that “there were systemic obstacles” in the work. The pressure on ex-minister Kubrakov and Nayem came from the Office of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers, Yaroslav Zheleznyak convinces LIGA.net.
Nayyem then announced the canceled budget for projects for the restoration and maintenance of roads, cut salaries, in some places – up to 68%, and that they began to have a “nightmare” with bureaucracy.
The Cabinet of Ministers believes that Nayem’s statements are an attempt to avoid reporting, and Servant of the People does not see any problems with the “ongoing personnel rotations.” The opposition says: the problems began from the moment when the ex-Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Kubrakov stopped going directly to President Zelensky.
It was in the team of the dismissed official that Mustafa Nayem belonged, People’s Deputy Yulia Klimenko tells LIGA.net.
Thus, the topic of restoring Ukraine was left without leaders. Almost all donor programs were put on pause, and preparations for the Berlin Recovery Conference were stopped.
