Vladimir Putin’s proposal is a real opportunity “to agree on conditions for non-renewal of the conflict,” believes Yuri Ushakov.
The results of the Peace Summit in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, “removed” the so-called “peace proposals” for the war in Ukraine, voiced by Vladimir Putin. This statement was made by the assistant of the Russian dictator Yuri Ushakov on Monday, June 17.
“The participants of Bürgenstock, whether they wanted to or not, were forced to consider our proposals presented the previous day, as you know, many immediately rejected these proposals, but some did- think about our choice,” he told reporters.
According to Ushakov, Putin’s proposal was a real opportunity to “agree on the conditions for non-renewal of the conflict,” but the results of the Swiss conference “crossed out” here.
He was asked if Russia would be ready to take part in the next conference if it was invited.
“I do not know what form will be held, but it is a confession that they gathered in vain. The country does not lead to anything, especially since this support is not universal in nature,” said Ushakov.
We remind you that on June 15-16, the Peace Summit, organized by Ukraine, took place in Switzerland. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the summit could contain practical steps toward peace.
It will be months, not years, before the next Peace Summit is held, he said. Russian representatives are expected there. Several countries have already expressed their interest in hosting it.
