As a result of the missile strike, a huge fire broke out aboard the cargo ship Verbena and sailors issued a distress signal.

The crew of the Ukrainian cargo ship Verbena abandoned the ship after it was hit by missiles fired by the Yemeni Houthis. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced this on June 16.

Noticeably the sailors sent out a distress signal on Saturday, June 15. The ship Anna Meta came to their aid.

The US military clarified that as a result of the impact a fire broke out on board the Verbena.

Let’s recall that on June 13, the Houthis attacked the cargo ship Verbena under the flag of Palau, owned by Ukraine and operated by Poland, with two missiles.

As reported by Athletistic, on October 7, 2023, the Hamas group attacked Israel. In response, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. After that, the Houthis, who control part of Yemen, began firing on ships in the Red Sea.
