Kamala Harris announced $1.5 billion for energy and humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The assistance includes $500 million in new funding for energy assistance and the redirection of $324 million of previously announced funds for Ukraine’s emergency energy needs. In particular, they will be used to repair damaged energy infrastructure, expand electricity production, encourage private sector investment, and protect energy infrastructure. The United States will also provide more than $379 million in humanitarian assistance for the immediate needs of refugees and internally displaced people in Ukraine. Zelensky and Swiss President Viola Amgerd held a meeting

In a joint press conference with Zelensky, Amgerd said that at the first Summit, representatives of the international community, including Ukraine, should get a “common understanding of the possible framework” for ending the war in Ukraine, also under what conditions. President Vladimir Zelensky, on the sidelines of the Peace Summit in Switzerland, met with Salome Zurabishvili and Gabriel Borich, colleagues from Georgia and Chile. During the meeting with the head of Georgia, bilateral cooperation and security challenges for the two countries were discussed. Expectations from the Peace Summit and further steps to implement the Peace Formula were discussed with Borich.

The President thanked the Patriarch, who was at the Peace Summit as an observer, for the humanitarian support, especially in the matters of the return of Ukrainian children and the exchange of prisoners.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz protested that Germany had blocked a new package of European sanctions against Russia. According to him, discussions on the package are currently ongoing. Scholz said: “It is about how we can ensure that the German economy can carry out its activities and at the same time ensure that the goods delivered somewhere in South America, to a country in Asia or in Africa, won’t go to Russia in a roundabout way where they shouldn’t.”

The invaders attacked the Donetsk region
