This is a 36-year-old resident of Moldova. He was previously wanted on German and European arrest warrants. He is currently in custody in the Czech Republic and must be immediately brought to Germany, he is suspected of committing murder by negligence.
The police did not provide more information, reports Spiegel.
The media previously wrote that German investigators are investigating versions of the possible involvement of two acquaintances of her mother in the murder of the girl.
The citizen of Moldova is the ex-boyfriend of the mother of the deceased Valeria. He allegedly contacted the woman on the day her daughter disappeared. According to Bild, his mobile phone was registered at a radio point in Debeln, and he himself seemed to be recorded by a surveillance camera in a neighboring house.
The investigation does not suggest that the child was sexually assaulted, because when he was found, the girl was clothed.
The child’s body was found on June 11 in the forest near the town of Debeln, far from forest paths. The police investigated the murder; law enforcement officers did not find any signs of sexual violence.
