The bodies of 254 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine.

The repatriation of the bodies took place with the assistance of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons in cooperation with the Joint Center under the SBU, the Central Internal Affairs Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, departments and international organizations. This was reported on June 14 at the coordination headquarters.
Ukraine returned the bodies of 221 defenders who fought in the Donetsk direction, 25 fallen soldiers in the Zaporozhye direction and four killed in the Lugansk direction. The bodies of four more heroes were transferred from Russian morgues.
The headquarters added that the Ukrainian military will deliver the repatriated bodies and remains to certain government institutions. There, forensic experts and law enforcement officers will identify the victims. After identification, the bodies of the defenders will be handed over to their families for burial.
Let us remind you that on May 31, as a result of repatriation measures, the bodies of 212 fallen defenders were returned from Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Lugansk and Kharkov directions, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
