Europe needs security, this is connected with the policy towards Ukraine, the German Chancellor said.
Germany will remain committed to its policy of supporting Ukraine, and this position was demonstrated by the results of the European Parliament elections. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this at a press conference with President Vladimir Zelensky in Berlin on Tuesday, June 11.
“European elections have shown the following: the majority of citizens support parties that believe it is necessary to support Ukraine. This is typical for Germany, and it is also seen in other European countries,” said the German Chancellor.
Scholz noted that Europe needs security and linked this to the policy towards Ukraine.
“There is no doubt, for the sake of the future we need security Therefore, it is very important to follow a reasonable, continuous policy, and we follow it – to support Ukraine and continue to provide the greatest support,” assured the politician.
On June 6-9, voters in Europe voted for the national parties that will represent them in the European Parliament. Far-right parties have somewhat improved their position, but the pro-Ukrainian majority in the European Parliament will remain.
Let’s remember that Scholz earlier said what the world should be like for Ukraine. In the near future, Germany will provide Ukraine with the third Patriot system, IRIS-T, Gepard installations, missiles and ammunition.
