Polish President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens related to the armed conflict on its territory, extending the period of legal stay. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the President of Poland on Monday, June 10.
The period of legal stay of Ukrainian war refugees in Poland has been extended from June 30 to September 30, 2025. This will allow Ukrainian citizens to continue to have access to medical services, family and social benefits.
Social assistance under “800+” (monthly child benefit in the amount of 800 zlotys) and “good start” (one-time assistance in the amount of 300 zlotys) will now be provided to Ukrainian families if the child goes to a Polish school.
The law also states that in order to obtain a PESEL number, a Ukrainian must present a valid travel document, and an application for a PESEL with UKR status must be submitted “immediately upon arrival” in Poland.
In addition, one-time social assistance for Ukrainian refugees in the amount of 300 zlotys ($75), as well as monetary compensation from the state for private housing owners who provided shelter and food to Ukrainian refugees , was cancelled.
Additionally, it is planned to introduce specific grounds for revoking temporary residence permits for citizens of Ukraine.
