The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported this in its latest report.
Experts note that Washington’s permission has created a fairly large area over which the Defense Forces have the right to fire with Western weapons. At the same time, restrictions on some types of American weapons have been maintained, which reduces the ability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike areas remote from the border with Ukraine, which Russia uses to cover its own combat forces, command and control, logistics and logistics support.
In fact, the Armed Forces have the right to strike Russian military targets located directly along the Ukrainian border. They are likely not allowed to hit Russian military targets further in the rear and in areas of the Kursk and Bryansk regions, which are also within the range of the MLRS, but at a greater distance from the border, the ISW report says.
