The official authorities of Moldova condemned the actions of their citizens imprisoned in Paris for the graffiti depicting a coffin and the inscription “French soldiers in Ukraine.” The corresponding statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Mihai Popsoi on the social network H.
According to him, Moldova regrets the incident involving three Moldovan citizens in Paris and “strongly condemns” it.
Popsoi called the incident part of a hybrid tactic aimed at damaging Moldova’s international image.
“The Chisinau authorities are ready to cooperate with France to clarify the circumstances and bring those responsible to justice,” the minister added.
It was previously reported that the police detained three Moldovans on suspicion of painting graffiti in Paris with the image of a coffin and the inscription “French soldiers in Ukraine.”
This graffiti was discovered on the streets of the 7th arrondissement of Paris on Friday, June 7th. On this day Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky visited Paris.
A week ago, five coffins with the inscription “French soldiers in Ukraine” were found near the Eiffel Tower. Five suspects were arrested.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron did not rule out sending troops to Ukraine. According to him, Russia should not win the war. Macron also named the conditions for the deployment of troops.
