The military aid to Ukraine includes new items in the development stage, the Finnish Defense Forces said.
The latest innovations from the Finnish defense industry were exported to Ukraine, and not just weapons from army warehouses. This was said by the head of the military economy department of the Finnish Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Mikko Heiskanen, Yle television and radio company reported the previous day.
“The feedback on the use of Finnish products is positive,” the military official said, adding that the experience gained in Ukraine will be useful for the development of the latest Finnish equipment.
Heiskanen also noted that production reserves made by the defense forces for Finnish companies could be activated for use in support of Ukraine. For this, he said, political will and additional funds are needed.
Let’s remember that the other day the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, said that his country would do everything for Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia. In his opinion, the path to peace lies on the battlefield in Ukraine.
In the past, Finland transferred 23 packages of military aid to Ukraine. It contains air defense equipment and projectiles with a total value of approximately 200 million euros.
