For Ukraine there will only be a just peace and hard work is being done for it. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this in a podcast, Ukrinform reports on Saturday, June 8.
“Ukraine is strong and will not be forced to kneel, will not be forced to surrender. Putin must finally have a just world. ” he said.
According to Scholz, working for peace does not mean raising a white banner. At the same time, the policy of peace also means that coordination partners support Ukraine in protecting its independence and sovereignty.
“More than 800 days after the start of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, one thing is clear: Russia cannot implement its imperialist plans,” the chancellor is convinced.
According to him, Vladimir Putin must realize that he cannot win the war, that only a just peace can be acceptable for Ukraine.
Scholz also spoke about several events planned for the next week dedicated to finding ways to peace in Ukraine. On June 11-12, a reconstruction conference will be held in Berlin, which will focus mainly on the recovery of the Ukrainian economy, followed by a meeting of G7 leaders and a peace summit in Switzerland. In the last event, the Chancellor plans to convince, first of all, the representatives of the countries of Asia, Africa and South America of the need to jointly make Russia understand the need to comply with international law and the UN Charter, and then stop the war
“This is the path to a just world. A peace that no one wants more than the Ukrainians that we also want,” concluded the German Chancellor.
We remind you that on June 15-16, an international peace summit will be held in Switzerland, initiated by Ukraine. Leaders from 160 countries are invited to the event. More than 100 countries and organizations have confirmed their participation.
The conference will build on previous discussions, especially on the Ukrainian Peace Formula and other peace proposals based on the UN Charter and basic principles of international law.
