The four were abducted by Hamas militants on October 7 last year from the Supernova music festival.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) freed four hostages from Hamas captivity during an operation in the central Gaza Strip. The Times of Israel reported this on Saturday, June 8.
The rescued hostages are Noah Argamani, Almog Meir Yan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv. The four were abducted by Hamas militants on October 7 last year from the Supernova music festival near the southern community of Reim.
Special forces simultaneously attacked two Hamas sites in Nuseirat in central Gaza. Argamani was saved in one place, three others were in second place.
According to preliminary medical assessments, all rescued hostages are in good condition. They were taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital for examination.
During the operation, heavy airstrikes were conducted against Hamas targets in the area, supported by ground troops. Hamas health authorities reported a large number of casualties.
As you know, on October 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages. In response, the IDF launched a massive attack on the Gaza Strip and killed more than 30,000 Palestinians.
Let’s recall that on May 17, the Israeli military discovered the bodies of three Hamas hostages in the Gaza Strip, among them the body of 23-year-old German citizen Shani Luk.
A few days ago, Poland confirmed the death of two citizens in the captivity of Hamas.
As of late May, Hamas is known to be holding 121 hostages. Israel believes at least 37 of them are dead, including the bodies in the Gaza Strip.
