Warsaw has considered Kyiv’s request to send military instructors to Ukraine to train the Ukrainian military. However, more effective help for the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be the formation of a Ukrainian unit from men living in Poland. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, Rzeczpospolita and WNP report.
We came to the conclusion that it would be safer and more effective to train a Ukrainian unit in Poland for Ukrainians subject to conscription into the Ukrainian army,” the diplomat noted.
Let us recall that the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh, previously stated that Poland can help Ukraine return those liable for military service home. However, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs promised to extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees who do not have passports.
