The law makes it possible for convicted women to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but so far such cases have not been recorded.

Minister of Justice Denys Malyuska stated this on the air of a national telethon, answering the question whether there were women among the convicts who expressed a desire to mobilize, the Ukrinform agency reports.
There are no women. Again, we have no restrictions in the law regarding the fact that these will be men or women,” the minister noted.
Theoretically, there is such a possibility, but so far there is no demand in the Armed Forces for the mobilization of women. That is, if we are talking about men, of course, there is a demand for as many people as possible who will be mobilized, again, to fulfill the order from the Armed Forces. This is not the case for women yet,” he added.
At the same time, Maluska noted that “there are actually few women in the prison system.”
I’m not ready to give a figure now, but in fact we are not talking about any large number of people. Firstly, they commit serious crimes much less often, and secondly, again, the courts do not so often give serious punishments, that is, punishments associated with deprivation of liberty, he emphasized.
On May 17, the president signed a law introducing the institution of parole for persons from serving their sentences for their direct participation in the defense of the country, protecting its independence and territorial integrity.
Let us remind you that Maluska recently stated that more than 600 prisoners have already joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
