A resident of the Carpathian region who raped and killed a 9-year-old boy received a life sentence. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on Wednesday, May 29.
It was proven in court that in June 2023, a man brutally abused a girl and then killed her.
“That day, the boy left home to see his sister, and was followed by a 34-year-old relative who was visiting his father on the way, the man took advantage of the fact that he knew him and trusted him, offered to take a shortcut to a plot near the river, and there he forced her to strip, beat, raped and strangled her.
The man is understood to be in custody pending sentencing.
Last year, it was reported that a 9-year-old girl, who was put on the wanted list the day before, was found dead in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. It later emerged that the boy had been raped and killed by his uncle.
