The Russian Army recently carried out four mechanized attacks with companies and smaller units in several operational directions in the Donetsk region to test Ukraine’s response. This is stated in a new report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian troops carried out intensified mechanized attacks:
- east of Temporary Yar;
- east of Novopokrovsky;
- near Novomikhailovka;
- in Staromayorsky.
Military experts also noted that in recent days, the Russian army of conquest has slowed down the pace of attacks and advances in the north of the Kharkov region and increased the pace of attacks in the direction of Pokrovsk. And the aforementioned mechanized attacks are limited compared to previous mechanized attacks at the beginning or during targeted offensive efforts.
ISW believes that the attacks on May 27 and 28 were aimed at assessing the reaction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their defense capability in the Donetsk direction. The enemy has already carried out similar attacks in the north of the Kharkov region, and now they have carried out similar attacks in the Donetsk region.
Let us recall that on May 27, Deep State analysts reported that the Russian army advanced near Sladkoye, Novomikhailovka, Sokol, Ocheretinoye, Novoaleksandrovka, Vremenny Yar, in Berestovoye and occupied Netailovo, Pokrovsky district.
