The politician no longer owns a Citation X private jet worth around $10 million.
Former US President Donald Trump was forced to sell the plane to cover huge legal costs. The Guardian reported this on Tuesday, May 28, citing information from the United States Federal Aviation Administration.
It was noted that Trump is no longer the owner of a Citation X private jet worth about $10 million. The politician sold his superjet to Iranian-American Mehrdad Moaedi, who has a real estate business in Dallas.
Moaedi has long been known as a donor to the Republican Party and, in particular, to Trump himself. In 2019-2020, he invested $250 thousand in the election campaign of the then US President – but this is only according to official data. In general, the businessman spent millions on various Republican needs.
The media linked the sale of the plane to the difficulties in which Trump found himself in the middle of huge legal costs. The former president spent $200 million on just two fines in libel and fraud cases. He also has to continue to support a large staff of lawyers dealing with the criminal charges filed against him.
Trump still owns the Boeing 757, which has the politician’s name emblazoned on the livery.
Previously, the media reported that Trump spent about $5 million in courts in March.
Also in March, the matter almost came to the foreclosure of Trump’s property.
