Ukraine can repel Russia only if it has more and better weapons, noted Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
As part of his visit to Belgium, President Vladimir Zelensky visited the air base where the F-16 fighter jets, which this country will transfer to Ukraine, are stationed. This was announced by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo on the social network X on Tuesday, May 28.
“The Russian invaders continue to kill Ukrainians every day. Dear Vladimir Zelensky, these F-16s will be yours to help you protect your citizens,” he wrote.
De Croo said that Ukraine “can only fight against Russia when it has more and better weapons, which will be delivered faster.”
Earlier on Tuesday it became known that Belgium will supply Ukraine with 30 F-16 fighter jets by 2028. The first aircraft will be delivered this year.
Also today, Belgium and Ukraine signed a security agreement. Belgium guarantees that it will provide timely security assistance to our state.
