The head of the Dutch Ministry of Defense believes that this issue is not subject to discussion, because Kyiv is defending its sovereignty.
Ukraine’s attacks on targets on Russian territory should not be a topic of discussion in the EU. Kyiv has the right to do so within the framework of its own self-defense. This is what Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said before a meeting of heads of EU defense ministries, Ukrinform reports.
The official said he did not rule out the possibility of Ukraine launching strikes inside Russia as Kyiv defends itself and tries to restore its territorial integrity.
“It is quite possible that they will have to strike inside Russia. So, from my point of view, this should not be a debate. And I also hope that other countries with the opposite position will change it,” Ollongren said.
In his opinion, the issue will also be discussed in Brussels.
