The occupiers are trying to use the DRG, in particular, for the purpose of exposing the locations of Ukrainian defenders and the defense line in order to defeat them, said Andrey Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, during a telethon on May 27.
He noted that the Russians on the border with the Sumy region do not have a powerful group for an offensive.
The length of the border with Russia within the Sumy region is more than 560 km. But according to the data we have, the enemy in this direction does not yet have such a powerful grouping that could, using forces and means, achieve some strategic goal or, conditionally, reach Sumy,” says Demchenko.
