In western Mexico, in the state of Michoacan, armed attackers robbed two trucks carrying 40 tons of avocados. This was reported by Sky News.

It was indicated that around 20 tons of avocados were stolen from both trucks. The thieves put the boxes of fruit in the vans and fled.

In Michoacan, avocado farmers have long faced extortion from drug cartels, and even the occasional theft of the fruits right from the trees of the avocado plantations. However, theft of large quantities is a very rare occurrence, the report said.

Mexico is the world leader in avocado cultivation and accounts for 45% of the international market for this fruit.

Prior to this, the greatest robbery in the country’s history took place in Costa Rica. The attackers stole $6.1 million in cash from a national bank.

In Paris, a Piaget boutique was robbed of up to 15 million euros
