There is still no clarity on the territorial issue of this state and other similar issues, the German Chancellor said.
The German government has no plans yet to recognize a Palestinian state. This was said by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Tagesschau reports.
“There is no proper justification” for recognizing the Palestinian Authority as a separate state, he said.
“There is no clarity on the issue of the territory of this state and on other issues corresponding to it,” said Scholz.
The German Chancellor added that it is imperative that “through negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, a solution is reached that allows for the coexistence of these two states.”
Let’s recall that on May 11, the UN General Assembly supported Palestine’s application for full membership in the organization and called on the UN Security Council to reconsider this issue.
On May 22, Norway, Spain and Ireland recognized the Palestinian state. These countries join the 143 UN member states (out of 193 in total) that have recognized the Palestinian state.
Israel recalled its ambassadors from Ireland and Norway in response to the decision to recognize the Palestinian state.
