Some Ukrainians who were accepted in Germany could fight the Russian aggressors in their homeland.
At least 200,000 of the 980,000 Ukrainians accepted in Germany could fight against the Russian aggressors in their homeland. This was announced by Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Hermann on Friday, May 24, writes Bild.
“It is unacceptable that we accept them and allow them to avoid compulsory military service,” the politician was furious.
He emphasized that it is “mind boggling” that Germany is doing everything possible to support Ukraine in the war, and then, on the other hand, “we are receiving soldiers.”
He also noted that Germany may stop paying benefits to such men.
“The least we can do is not to pay such assistance to citizens, especially those who are actually obliged to perform military service in their homeland in Ukraine and are needed there to protect peace and freedom. No bonuses for deserters ,” he says .
Germany also said that Europe needs a more equal distribution of refugees between countries and noted that the number of asylum seekers in Germany continues to grow.
It was previously reported that Germany may assist Ukraine in returning men liable for military service. This was stated by the Minister of the Interior of the German federal state of Hesse, Roman Posek.
