Ukrainian soldiers were accused of “killing three civilians in Mariupol” in 2022.
The “Supreme Court” of the Russian-controlled so-called “DPR” sentenced four Ukrainian military battalions to life imprisonment Zaporozhye. This was reported by the independent Russian Telegram channel Astra on Friday, May 24.
It was noted that Ukrainian military personnel were accused of “attempted killing of civilians in Mariupol in 2022.”
According to the investigators, Vladislav Kulik, Oleg Komachevsky, Dmitry Dobrovolsky and Alexander Romashin were in combat positions on the territory of the Mariupol Ilyich Metallurgical Plant from March to April 2022. According to the Russian investigators, “they shot with machine guns the three civilians passing near the battle positions.” One man is said to have died, two escaped.
The men were sentenced to life imprisonment to be served in a special regime correctional colony. Last year they were convicted in the DPR for “killing a civilian.”
Let’s remember that in 2023, the “Supreme Court of the DPR” sentenced Andrei Petrenko, a serviceman of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to 22 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony. He was found guilty of allegedly killing a civilian during the battles for Mariupol.
In February of this year, the “DPR” sentenced 33 Ukrainian soldiers of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Navy and the 17th Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to be imprisoned for 27 to 29 years in a maximum security colony.
