Schengen visa fees will increase due to inflation

The fee for a visa to EU countries will increase from 80 to 90 euros, for children under 12 years old – from 40 to 45 euros.

From June 11, the European Commission will raise the visa fee for foreign tourists to 90 euros. The new regulations are published on the EC website.

“The Commission analyzed the dynamics of the general level of inflation throughout the Union and the average salary of civil servants of the Member States in the period from July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2023. It was decided that there is a need to increase the visa fee of 12.5%,” – said the press release.

The fee for a visa to EU countries will increase from 80 to 90 euros, for children under 12 years old – from 40 to 45 euros. The Regulations will enter into force on the twentieth day after their publication, that is, June 11.

It was previously reported that the Schengen zone will expand to two countries.
