Advisor to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko spoke about this on air at a national telethon, the Ukrinform agency reports.
There are currently between 75 and 80 thousand Russians in Mariupol, according to our estimates, he noted.
According to Andryushchenko, cases are becoming more frequent when Russians want to take possession of the housing of Mariupol residents, and this is pushing local residents to leave the city for territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
Attempts by Russians to steal the latter from Mariupol residents lead to the fact that Mariupol residents mostly go for evacuation to (safer territories – ed.) Ukraine,” Andryushchenko noted.
Let us recall that last year it became known about the plans of the Russians to increase the population of Mariupol by about 300 thousand people due to migration from Russia.
