Ukrainian technicians were taught to maintain all components important for a fighter pilot – a helmet, parachutes on board and oxygen systems. They also learned how to assemble and test a survival kit that allows a pilot to stay alive for several days after an emergency landing. The kit includes, among other things, food and medicine. This was reported by the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that the training program for technicians was developed by the Flight Safety Equipment Cluster.
The defense department noted that such exercises are very important because F-16 pilots are essentially putting their lives in the hands of the fighter-serving military.
The moment they take off, they know they can rely on the knowledge and skills of these people,” said one of the cluster employees.
As you know, the Netherlands promised to transfer at least 24 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Also, these types of aircraft will be transferred to the air force by Denmark, Norway and Belgium.
Let us remind you that on May 10, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that it had received the first F-16 fighter simulator from the Czech Republic. Its main module is already being tested and prepared for operation by Ukrainian specialists from one of the tactical aviation brigades.
