Now the conscious position of every electricity consumer is very important, emphasized the head of the Cabinet.
Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal ordered the Ministry of Energy and NPC Ukrenergo to develop a draft government resolution on “fair schedules” for disconnecting consumers from electricity. He announced this on Telegram following a government meeting on Tuesday, May 21.
“The situation in the energy sector is difficult because of a large deficit, we continue to import record amounts of electricity from Europe, but the imports do not cover the losses from the fear in Russia and those citizens,” Shmygal wrote.
According to him, the conscious position of each consumer is very important today, and it is also important that consumer disconnection schedules are rational, fair and uniform.
“The Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo was ordered to develop a draft corresponding government resolution on fair schedules for disconnecting consumers. This document should also contain a list of facilities critical for the state that require of priority power supply, and the order of distribution of maximum power to other consumers not included in the critical list.” added the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Earlier on Tuesday, Ukrenergo canceled the blackout in all regions of Ukraine. At the same time, energy workers reported that the restrictions will continue from 17:00 to 24:00.
We remind you that from March 22 to May 8, the Russians targeted all large thermal and hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine five times. Due to extensive damage, they were unable to produce as much electricity as before the attacks began. Initially, closing schedules were introduced for industry, and later for the population.
President Vladimir Zelensky said that after the Russian attacks, Ukraine’s energy sector lost a significant part of its generation, so it is necessary to rationally consume electricity until recovery.
