Only with the latest purchases it is possible to save more than 65 million Hryvnia from the expected cost, the department said.
The Ministry of Defense’s Defense Acquisition Agency has awarded new contracts for the purchase of 4,200 DJI Mavic 3E unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with additional equipment. The military department announced this on Tuesday, May 21.
It is indicated that, together with previous purchases, the total number of DJI Mavic UAVs contracted by the agency stands at 8,200 sets (7,200 DJI Mavic 3E and 1,000 DJI Mavic 3T). The total value of the concluded contracts is 1.1 billion Hryvnia.
According to the results of Prozorro auctions, the average price for a UAV is:
-
DJI Mavic 3E with three additional batteries and a charger – 126.3 thousand UAH;
-
DJI Mavic 3T with three additional batteries and a charger – 194.2 thousand UAH.
“With these purchases alone, we managed to save more than 65 million UAH from the expected cost And this is given that we work on the principle of cash on delivery to secure deliveries as much as possible opportunity to buy more drones for the military, which are very important at the front,” said Marina Bezrukova, director of the Defense Procurement Agency.
Also, on May 20, auctions were held for an additional 4,000 DJI Mavic 3E and 1,500 DJI Mavic 3T BPaK, for which contracts are expected to be signed.
At the end of April, it became known that Ukraine will spend an additional billion on drones. For the allocated funds, it is possible to provide another 300 thousand drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We remind you that Ukraine is capable of producing 2 million drones per year. But it needs additional financial support from businesses and Western countries.
The media also reported that Ukraine will soon use long-range drones to attack Russian targets in the Urals and the Arctic.
