India will participate in all important summits promoting the agenda of global peace, security and development, assured Narendra Modi.
India to attend Peace Summit in Switzerland. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in an interview with PTI published on Monday, May 20.
“India will participate in all important summits that promote the agenda of global peace, security and development,” Modi said, referring to the invitation to participate in the Group of Seven meeting and the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
India will “speak as the voice of the Global South” at these summits to shape the global discourse and promote a vision of people-centred development and a prosperous and peaceful world, he said.
“The level of participation will depend on timing, logistics and parallel commitments,” Modi said when asked if he would personally attend the two multilateral meetings.
Modi noted that the invitations extended to India to participate in the summits are a recognition of its importance and contribution to international affairs: “They reflect the active participation in global affairs that we pursue in accordance with our philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ( the world is one family,” ed.)”.
We remind you that the Peace Summit will be held on June 15-16 in Switzerland. Ukraine hopes for the participation of 80-100 countries in this event.
The Office of the President suggests that Russia’s participation in the first Peace Summit is not expected, but there is a possibility that its representatives will be at the second summit.
