The ruling Croatian Democratic Union party formed a coalition with the far-right Rodina movement.

The Croatian parliament on Friday approved a government led by pro-European and pro-Ukrainian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who is in office for a third term. This was reported by Reuters news agency.

The ruling Croatian Democratic Union party formed a coalition with the far-right movement native land. Of the 141 representatives present, 79 voted for the government, 61 voted against, and one abstained. In the government, consisting of 18 members, Batkivshchyna will have three ministers.

According to the coalition agreement between the two parties, the Croatian Democratic Union will retain its own interior and culture ministers.

Enter the government for the first time Batkivshchyna will head the Ministry of Agriculture, the new Ministry of Demography and part of the Ministry of Economics, which is divided into two departments.

The Croatian Democratic Union retained ministers from the previous government, bringing in only one new official.

In Croatia, at least until the presidential elections scheduled for the end of 2024, the friendly government of Ukraine will remain. At the same time, the country’s president, Zoran Milanovic, remains pro-Russian.

As we wrote earlier, the current Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, will remain in office for a third term after the parliamentary elections.

Let’s add that on April 17, early parliamentary elections were held in Croatia.
