Six Amber-1800 radars will be transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius highly appreciated Lithuania’s strong support for Ukraine in its fight against the occupiers. He emphasized that Lithuania reaches an extremely high level of military assistance. The German Ministry of Defense reported this on May 17.
“Thank you also for participating in our air defense initiative,” he said.
The German minister added that the accompanying sale of six Amber-1800 radar systems is Lithuania’s contribution to saving lives in Ukraine.
Amber-1800 is a ground mobile radar developed by the Lithuanian company LitakTak. The station is designed to automatically detect air objects, their azimuth and range coordinates.
Let us remind you that in 2024, the German manufacturer Hensoldt will transfer six TRML-4D air surveillance radars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The cost of purchasing six units is more than 100 million euros.
