He recalled that there had already been a ceasefire from Russia, but “it doesn’t really work with this enemy.”
According to Zelensky at a meeting with journalists on May 17, Western partners are not pushing Ukraine towards peace negotiations with Russia, but “in the atmosphere of peace it exists,” so Ukraine must be “stable.”
And here we just need to be very persistent and strong. And today the right platform has been chosen, where we have an initiative – a peace summit,” the president added.
In his opinion, if there is a significant number of countries and a corresponding communiqué at the summit in Switzerland, this will become a diplomatic advantage for Ukraine.
The President also believes that before communication across Russia, it is necessary to create a detailed plan agreed upon by the whole world.
Zelensky added that Putin does not benefit from dialogue with the whole world:
Because even China will tell him: explain the seizure of territories! Because China stands for the territorial integrity of any state.
