And the situation in the Slovak parliament is now tense. After the assassination attempt, official Richard Gluck entered the hall and shouted to opposition deputies that it was their fault and they were responsible for it. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky called the attack on Fico “terrible” after a retreat of the Slovak government. In a statement on the social network X, he condemned the assassination attempt.
We strongly condemn this act of violence against the head of government of our neighboring partner state. Every effort should be made to ensure that violence does not become the norm in any country, form or sphere. We sincerely hope that Robert Fico will recover quickly and express our solidarity with the people of Slovakia, the statement said.
And Russian propaganda has already found a “Ukrainian trace” in this attempt on the life of the Slovak leader.
