Administrative court judge Tomasz Schmidt, after leaving for a neighboring country, sought political asylum there.
The Warsaw District Court arrested in absentia for three months the judge of the administrative court, Tomasz Schmidt, who left for Belarus and sought political asylum. The prosecutor of the National Prosecutor’s Office of Poland, Artur Kaznowski, spoke about this, PAP reports.
“The court fully granted the request of the prosecutor’s office to apply this measure (temporary arrest, – ed.) for three months,” Kaznovsky said.
Based on the court’s decision, an arrest warrant will be issued for the person and an application for a European arrest order will be prepared.
We remind you that on May 6, Polish judge Tomasz Schmidt said at a press conference in Minsk that he wants to stay in Belarus and will ask for political asylum because he does not agree with the policies of his country.
