David Arakhamia has “almost issued an ultimatum” to Europe about Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili said.
The leader of the Servant of the People group, David Arahamia, has personally traveled to the United States and Europe and requested that Georgia not accept the status of a candidate member of the European Union. This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili in his speech in parliament on Wednesday, June 22.
“One of the main initiators who urgently requested from Europe and the United States that Georgia not accept the status of a candidate was the representative of the Ukrainian authorities, Mr. a candidate, they were very angry”, said Garibashvili.
He did not specify where he obtained this information, but said that Ukraine allegedly supported supporters of former Georgia President Mikheil Saakashvili in the matter. We are talking, in particular, about after Georgia in the EU during the presidency of Saakashvili, MP from the opposition party Lelo for Georgia Salome Samadashvili.
“Mrs. Salome Samadashvili personally went to Brussels and asked not to give the status. Recognize the traitor of the country,” said the prime minister, addressing representatives today in parliament.
Recall, on June 17, the European Commission did not recommend granting the status of a candidate for EU accession to Georgia. As a result, a protest was even organized in the center of Tbilisi the other day-thousands of people gathered for actions in support of Georgia’s European integration under the slogan Home, to Europe.
