With the arrival of warmer weather in our country, not only plants and insects woke up, but also snakes.
The first cases of snake attacks on people have already been recorded in Ukraine. Two people were taken to hospital in serious condition. The State Emergency Service (SSES) and the National Health Service of Ukraine reported this on Sunday, May 12, on Telegram.
“The snakes have woken up, so be careful,” the rescuers warned.
They mentioned that if you encounter a snake, you should not make sudden movements. Better to freeze and wait until he crawls.
“As a rule, a snake cannot see an immovable object,” the State Emergency Service emphasized.
If the snake attacks and bites a person, you should contact a doctor as soon as possible.
“Call 103 or take the victim to the doctor himself, after all, only a doctor can provide the necessary medical care and apply an antidote if necessary,” the doctors urged.
The Ministry of Health also gave some advice on what to do if taking the victim to the hospital takes some time, you need to give first aid to the person:
-
ensure peace and minimum movement of the victim;
-
let’s drink plenty of fluids;
-
free the affected part of the body from clothes and shoes;
-
if part of the foot is bitten, secure it with an improvised splint (board, stick);
-
If possible, apply ice wrapped in a cloth to the wound;
-
disinfect the wound and apply a sterile bandage.
“Under no circumstances should you cut the wound and suck out the poison, cauterize the wound, apply a tourniquet, or give the victim alcohol,” the doctors stressed.
We remind you that in Zaporozhye, patrol police had to chase away a snake from a playground.
It was previously reported that in Kyiv, a family found a snake in a washing machine.
In Odessa, a snake scared the residents of the house and bit the director of the zoo
