In the center of Tbilisi on Saturday, May 11, a rally of thousands is taking place against the law on “foreign agents” before the final consideration in the parliament, reports the Echo of the Caucasus.

Protesters for the “European March” started gathering in the early evening in three different places and moved from there to Europe Square with Georgian and EU flags and their slogans.

It was noted that the total number of activists is difficult to estimate, but some refer to “tens of thousands.” The square was completely full of people.

Opponents of high-profile bills address the audience from the stage, and musicians also perform.

On Monday, May 13, Georgia’s parliament must consider the high-profile bill in its third final reading.

As you know, on May 1, the Georgian parliament adopted the bill “On Transparency of Foreign Influence” in the second reading. The final third reading of the bill will be considered on May 13.

Protests against this bill have been taking place in Georgia since April. Protesters say they will not allow changes to the country’s pro-European course.
