Operatives and analysts of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense identified 29 command, flight and technical personnel of the 44th separate special-purpose long-range aviation regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces attacking Ukraine with this type of weapon. This was reported on the GUR website on May 11.
The intelligence officers also identified seven officers from the regiment’s technical staff. Among the 44 Russians are a colonel, seven lieutenant colonels and several majors. The full list of these racists is published on the military intelligence web page.
It has been established that the 44th separate air regiment was formed on December 1, 2021 and is permanently stationed at the Savasleyka airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. The regiment has a two-squadron structure, with up to 24 MiG-31K long-range fighter-interceptor aircraft.
The Main Intelligence Directorate also found out the tail numbers of the MiG-31K aircraft from the regiment: RF-20862, RF-03230, RF-20882, RF-03231, RF-03234, RF-19275, RF-94268, RF-42251, RF-42253, RF -20867, RF-20883.
As is known, the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aircraft-missile system can deliver the fastest possible strikes at a distance of up to 2 thousand km. The warhead is 500 kg.
Let us recall that in December, British intelligence reported that Ukraine had achieved success in intercepting Kinzhal ballistic missiles, which Russian dictator Vladimir Putin had previously declared to be Russia’s “superweapon.”
