Bloomberg reports that Pentagon employees, working together with Ukraine and specialists from Elon Musk’s SpaceX company, were able to block the illegal use of Starlink satellite communication terminals by the Russian military.

The Ukrainian Army uses many of these terminals at the front, and the Russian Army may have been using them for some time, according to reports.
US Undersecretary of Defense for Space John Plumb told Bloomberg that the problem of unauthorized access to the Russian military system had been resolved.
We have now successfully stopped using [терміналів] Russians, but I’m sure Russia will continue to try to find ways to use Starlink and other commercial communications systems,” Plumb said.
The publication says that some Russian sites continue to advertise Starlink terminals – while their sellers report that subscriptions in such cases are issued to residents of European countries. They write that the system will not work deep inside Russia, but will allow communication in border areas, including in the occupied territory of Ukraine.
However, this week Russian Starlink users began to complain about unprecedented communication problems, Bloomberg writes.
The publication recalls that by May 2022, Ukraine received 10 thousand Starlink terminals. Later, the Pentagon signed an annual contract worth $23 million with SpaceX; he leaves in May of this year, Bloomberg adds.
