A Ukrainian drone hit an oil refinery in Russian Bashkiria, covering a record 1,500 km.
On May 9, a long-range drone hit one of Russia’s largest oil refineries – Gazprom neftekhim Salavat. The refinery is located in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Thus, the Ukrainian drone set a record, covering a distance of 1,500 kilometers.

Attacked Gazprom neftekhim Salavat is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical production complexes in Russia. It specializes in the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, other petroleum products, liquefied gas, butyl alcohol, plasticizer, polyethylene, polystyrene, ammonia and urea.

According to the Russian Telegram channel Baza, after the drone attack on the refinery, the fire started there. The UAV entered a catalytic cracking unit – this is an important element of the oil refining process.
According to the head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, “after the drone appeared, a smoke cell appeared on the territory of the business.” At the same time, he claimed that the operation of the plant was normal.
At the same time, according to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, only the pumping station was damaged, but there was no fire.
Due to the drone attack, Salavat city authorities canceled the concert, and Mayor Arthur Rundau urged citizens “not to panic.”
Strikes at other refineries
On the night of May 9, Russian territory was attacked by several kamikaze drones. The UAVs struck the border of the Russian city of Belgorod and the Krasnodar Territory, where Russian oil depots are located.
In particular, two oil depots were hit in the village of Yurovka near Anapa, located about two kilometers from each other. So, a drone attacks an oil depot LLC LUKOILas a result of which an oil tank was damaged, a fuel leak occurred, but no fire occurred, Russian public pages wrote.
Seven more drones hit a nearby oil depot – LLC Temp, it specializes in storing fuel oil. Three fuel tanks caught fire.
According to Ukrainian media, the oil depots in the village of Yurovka were used for the transshipment to supply fuel to the Russian troops in Crimea, as they are located near the occupied peninsula.
