The enemy agent was interested in the geolocations of fortified areas with fortifications and heavy weapons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces defending Kharkov from the northern border. He also planned to find out the locations of mobile air defense fire groups repelling Shaheed attacks in the border areas of the region. The Security Service of Ukraine reported this on May 9.
It turned out that the informant with a criminal past lived in the Volchansky district of the Kharkov region. At one time, he served time in prison for theft and causing grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim. Under the guise of an ordinary citizen, he walked around the border area, where he monitored the location of defense lines and firing positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And he transmitted the coordinates to the enemy via Google maps.
The spy was exposed and detained in time. He was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement, movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine if it is possible to identify them on the ground) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to eight years in prison.
Let us remind you that a 25-year-old Russian agent spied on pontoon crossings of the Ukrainian Defense Forces across the rivers of the Donetsk region. The attacker tried to find pontoon-bridge complexes and locations where they are used to transport heavy weapons across local rivers.
