As of March 31, 2024, 4,211,495 people from Ukraine had temporary protection status in the EU, Eurostat reported.
In EU countries, the number of Ukrainians enjoying temporary protection is decreasing. This is confirmed by Eurostat data.
It was noted that as of March 31, 2024, 4,211,495 people from Ukraine had temporary protection status in the EU, and at the end of February there were 4,234,595 such people.
The largest number of Ukrainians who left their homes to escape the war were taken:
Germany (1,301,790 people, 30.9% of the EU total);
Poland (955,520; 22.7%);
Czech Republic (364,375; 8.7%).
In March of this year, the majority of Ukrainians came to:
Germany (+15,210; +1.2%);
Netherlands (+4705; +4.0%);
Bulgaria (+3475; +7.6%).
According to Eurostat, the number of people with temporary protection fell in nine EU countries, with the biggest decline recorded in:
Czech Republic (-20,700; -5.4%);
Sweden (-9960; -21.5%);
Austria (-9130; -11.1%);
Denmark (-5385; -14.5%);
Poland (-1680; -0.2%).
It is also reported that of citizens with temporary protection in the EU, more than 98% are citizens of Ukraine. Of all recipients of temporary protection in the EU, adult women make up 45.8%, children – 32.8%, adult men – 21.4%.

We remind you that Poland will extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees. In particular, this also applies to Ukrainians who do not have a passport.
