Ukraine deserves a positive EU decision on the issue of bloc membership. This was announced on June 22 by President Volodymyr Zelensky in a speech to participants of the Embrace Ukraine charity telethon – #StrivingTogether in Amsterdam.
“There are a few days left before the historic decision of the European Union on Ukraine. And I am sure that none of us, none of you have any doubt that Ukraine should receive a positive decision. We deserve it! And we don’t deserve it. only through our courage and struggle for freedom, “said the head of state.
Zelensky recalled that Russian bombs were destroying cities, and soldiers were killing thousands of civilians.
“This is an attack by Russia against the whole of independent Europe against our common values. Against human rights, the rule of law and conventions that protect every person in Europe and the world,” the Ukrainian leader.
According to him, together we will be able to quickly end the war and rebuild everything that Russia destroyed.
“A united Europe is stronger than any tyranny!” directed by the President.
He added that Ukraine has “expanded the scope of European values” and the country’s parliament on June 21 ratified the Istanbul Convention.
Earlier it was reported that all 27 member states of the European Union aim to officially give Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the bloc.
This issue is to be resolved on June 23-24 at the summit in Brussels.
