At night, the Russians attacked the energy infrastructure of the Dnepropetrovsk region. The substation and some consumers were de-energized, the Ministry of Energy reported on Saturday, May 4.
“As a result, the substation lost power, and with it two mines (people were not brought to the surface), a water utility, industrial and household consumers. The consumers and the substation recovered, ” said the report.
It is indicated that network restrictions are now in effect and shutdown schedules are being applied in the Kharkov region and industry in Krivoy Rog.
In the past 24 hours, the needs of Ukrainians have been covered by their own generation, commercial imports, and emergency assistance. On May 3, during the evening peak hours, at the request of Ukraine, an emergency power supply was carried out from the power systems of Romania, Poland and Slovakia. The total amount of emergency supplies amounts to less than 1% of daily electricity use.
Also, during the day, Ukraine, at the request of Poland, immediately received excess electricity from the power systems of this country.
Now Ukraine plans to import electricity in the amount of 5,712 MWh.
Earlier on Saturday it became known that the Russians attacked the city of Pavlograd in the Dnepropetrovsk region with drones. There, critical infrastructure and homes were destroyed. Two people were injured.
Also tonight, three fires broke out in Kharkov due to Russian drone attacks. Four people were injured, including a child.
The Air Force said it shot down all 13 drones in the Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk regions. But the enemy also used S-300 anti-aircraft missiles.
