Visits will take place this month. Joko Widodo will be the first Asian leader to visit the two countries since the war began.
Indonesian President and G20 Chairman Joko Widodo will visit Ukraine and Russia in June. This was stated by the head of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Retno Marsudi, according to France24.
“During his visits to Kyiv and Moscow, the head of state (Vidodo – ed.) Will meet with President Zelensky and President Putin,” the minister specified.
According to him, Widodo will visit Kyiv and Moscow after participating in the G7 summit in Germany on June 26-27, to which Indonesia was invited.
“The President’s visit underscores Indonesia’s concern about humanitarian issues. The country will try to contribute to resolving the food crisis caused by the war in Ukraine,” Marsudi stressed.
It is learned that the President of Indonesia will be the first Asian leader to visit the two countries since the war began.
Widodo had earlier reportedly invited the Ukrainian leader to the G20 summit, to be held in Bali in November.
