Law enforcement officials detained three students from Russia who were illegally exporting goods with both civil and military applications to the Russian Federation.
Three Russian students have been detained in Finland, suspected of exporting dual-use goods from Finland to other countries. Yle reported this on Friday, May 3.
It was learned that by the court’s decision, two 25-year-old men and an 18-year-old woman will be kept in custody during the investigation.
Investigator Kimmo Tuulenkari has not yet disclosed the details of the investigation regarding what goods the suspects were exporting from Finland and where. We are talking about dual-use goods, that is, items with both civil and military applications.
We usually talk about electronics, sensors or lasers. Exporting such goods abroad may be considered a violation of the sanctions law.
The police believe that the goods were exported from Finland because “there is a demand for them in the country or countries of destination.”
Law enforcement officials are studying the scale of illegal exports carried out by Russians.
Earlier it was reported that in Finland, on the border of the Russian Federation, vandals cut down the Ukrainian flag.
