Four floors of the building were completely burned out. Part of the walls of the enterprise collapsed. Firefighters work only hand in hand, because it is now impossible to enter a burning building. This was stated by a representative of the Berlin fire service, Adrian Wentzel, reports BZ Berlin.
Meanwhile, the German capital was covered in a cloud of toxic smoke because the plant used sulfuric acid and copper dioxide. There is a risk of hydrogen cyanide forming, which will rise into the air along with the smoke. Berlin residents are urged to close their doors and windows and not go outside.
As is known, among the products manufactured by Diehl Metal are air defense systems, guided missiles and ammunition.
Let us remind you that on May 1, drones attacked the Ryazan Oil Refinery, and a large fire broke out at the plant. This is the third most powerful Russian refinery and can process more than 17 million tons of oil per year.
